Syrian forces increase crackdown

Syrian troops and tanks have entered two more towns in the north of the country in an attempt to stop anti-government protests.

Protesters in many parts of Syria are preparing to take to the streets again after Friday prayers, as the uprising against President Assad goes into its fourth month.

The BBC's Middle East correspondent Jim Muir reports from Beirut.
