Netanyahu calls for 'peace before a Palestinian state'

Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu has told the UN General Assembly he was reaching out to Palestinians and blamed them for refusing to negotiate.

He said that Palestinians should first make peace with Israel, before they receive recognition for a sovereign state.

Mr Netanyahu added that the core of the conflict was not settlements but the refusal of the Palestinians to recognise the Jewish state.
