'Scant turnout' in Syrian elections as unrest continues

Parliamentary elections have been held in Syria despite continuing violence in parts of the country.

But opposition groups dismissed them as a sham and called for a boycott of Monday's vote.

The BBC's Rupert Wingfield-Hayes said that anecdotal evidence suggested turnout was "pretty scant".
