Palestinian hunger strike: 'A big concession by Israel'

Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails have agreed to end their mass hunger strike, Palestinian and Israeli officials have said.

More than 1,500 Palestinians have been on hunger strike since mid-April, demanding better conditions. Two inmates are said to be seriously ill.

The BBC's Jon Donnison in Jerusalem said that Israel made "a pretty big concession" in agreeing that detentions will no longer be extended if no new evidence emerges.
