Crowds gather in Tahrir Square

An Egyptian court has sentenced ex-President Hosni Mubarak to life in prison for complicity in the killing of protesters during last year's uprising.

But the acquittal of four high-ranking interior ministry officials sparked fury.

Crowds gathered in Tahrir Square in central Cairo, close to where many lives were lost in January last year, in the uprising.
