Pope Benedict XVI holds Mass for thousands in Beirut

The Pope has urged Arab leaders to work for reconciliation in the Middle East.

Speaking at an open air mass in Beirut, he also called on the international community to find a solution to Syria's civil war.

His visit coincided with anti-US protests across the region over a film deemed insulting to Islam.

The BBC's Middle East editor, Jeremy Bowen reports.
