Syrian rebels celebrate 'capture of key army base'

Syrian rebels have claimed to have taken control of a strategic oil-producing region in the east of the country, bordering Iraq.

The rebels said fighters had captured the last government stronghold at Mayadeen in the Deir Ezzor province after a three-week siege.

But there has been no confirmation by the Syrian government, as Jim Muir reports.
