Kerry hopeful on Mid-East talks despite settlement move

The US Secretary of State has said that Israel's approval of 1,200 settlement homes highlights the importance of starting Middle East peace talks quickly.

The announcement from Israel came only days before the talks with the Palestinians are due to resume.

But, speaking at a news conference on a trip to Colombia, John Kerry said that he does not think the announcement will delay the process.
