Egypt unrest: Mourning and anger as death toll rises

The UN Security Council has called on the Egyptian government to exercise "maximum restraint" to end violence which has seen 638 people killed.

The deaths occurred when security forces broke up camps of protesters allied to the Muslim Brotherhood.

Demonstraters had been staging sit-ins for weeks, demanding the reinstatement of President Mohammed Morsi, overthrown by the army in July.

Jeremy Bowen reports from Cairo.
