Kurds warn of long battle against Islamic State

Kurdish fighters are combating Islamic State in northern Iraq but a top Kurdish commander has said that as long as his forces remain without heavy weapons, the battle will prove slow and difficult.

The fighters, known as Peshmergas, have been helped by US airstrikes on IS positions, but the Islamist group still holds large areas in both Iraq and Syria.

Kasra Naji reports from northern Iraq.
