New challenge to Indian rule in Kashmir

Kashmir has been the subject of dispute between India and Pakistan since independence from Britain in 1947.

But a new generation of protesters has been out on the streets of Indian-administered Kashmir this summer. More than 50 have been killed in clashes with the police.
