Trapped Chilean miners speak to rescuers for first time

Thirty-three miners in Chile who have been trapped underground for nearly three weeks have spoken to rescuers for the first time.

They used a telephone line to say they were generally in good health.

The miners could be stuck in the mine near Copiapo until Christmas, by when a rescue tunnel will hopefully be completed.

The BBC's Gideon Long is at the mine.
