US troops recapture key Afghan region

One of the most fiercely contested areas of Afghanistan is the Arghandab Valley - a key route into Kandahar City.

Now a surge of American troops has recaptured many areas previously lost to the Taliban, and with promises to repair the destruction and compensation payouts, people are now returning.
