US demands Pakistan tackles militants in north Waziristan

One of Pakistan's most senior military commanders has said there is no likelihood of an imminent full-scale offensive against militant sanctuaries in north Waziristan.

It has long been one of Washington's key demands as insurgents based there carry out attacks on US and NATO troops across the border in Afghanistan.
