Afghanistan's President Karzai confirms Taliban peace talks

President Karzai of Afghanistan has confirmed that the United States and other countries are engaged in peace talks with the Taliban.

He said negotiations had started and were "going well".

Shortly after the announcement, a group of suicide bombers attacked a police station in Kabul, killing two officers.
