On patrol with UK troops in Afghanistan

David Cameron has issued a direct appeal to the Taliban to lay down their arms and become part of the political process in Afghanistan.

Speaking on the second day of his visit to the country, the Prime Minister also announced that Britain would set up and run a new officer training academy for the Afghan army and increase the amount of aid given to Afghanistan.
