Gulf oil spill: 'No-one owes Hayward an apology'

The White House has said US officials pushed BP to tackle the oil leak in the Gulf of Mexico faster and more thoroughly "at every step of the way".

Press Secretary Robert Gibbs told a news conference "no-one owes Tony Hayward an apology" for the hard time BP has been given over its handling of the disaster.
