US questions over Lockerbie bomber release

A year since the Lockerbie bomber walked free from prison on compassionate grounds, two US senators have said a cloud of suspicion hangs over his release.

They have called again on Britain to hold an independent inquiry into why Abdelbasset Ali al-Megrahi was allowed to return to Libya.
