Rival protests held over New York mosque

Rival protesters have taken to the streets of New York to demonstrate over plans for a mosque near the site of the 9/11 terror attacks.

Developers plan to convert an old building into a 13-storey Islamic community centre and mosque.

Protesters for and against the plans chanted slogans at each other, but were kept apart by barriers set up by the police.
