Brains of monks scanned in tranquillity study

A neuroscientist at New York University has been scanning the brains of Buddhist monks in an effort to understand the science behind their claims of tranquillity.

Zoran Josipovic says the study focuses on a poorly understood area of the brain, called the default network.
