NYPD criticised for treatment of Muslims

New York's police department is facing growing criticism of its surveillance of Muslim communities.

The police commissioner and the mayor of New York say the counter terrorism programme is aimed at saving lives, but many Muslims are demanding officials investigate the NYPD's actions.

The US Attorney General, Eric Holder, has said the Justice Department will review the complaints against the city's police force. Laura Trevelyan reports from New York.
