Egypt faces 'huge change' to its future

Egypt's supreme court has caused widespread alarm by calling for the dissolution of the lower house of parliament and for fresh elections, two days before the country chooses a president in a run-off vote.

Jon Alterman of the Center for Strategic and International Studies tells the BBC's Jane O'Brien that the decision means a "huge change to the future of Egypt" and shows that the military has some confidence.

"My guess is the military wouldn't have done this if they thought they were on the precipice of disaster," he says.
