Syria crisis: Obama warns Assad on WMDs

Barack Obama has warned Syria's president and those under him that they will be held accountable if they make the "tragic mistake" of using chemical weapons.

The US president's comments came after Damascus acknowledged the existence of WMDs in the conflict-torn county for the first time.

Speaking in Reno, Nevada, the US president also said that the Syrian people deserved a government that "respects their basic rights to live in peace, freedom and dignity".
