US tax vote cancellation 'will of Congress' - John Boehner
The cancellation of a vote on taxes in Congress by Republicans was "not the outcome I wanted", John Boehner has said.
The Republican House speaker proposed the bill, which would have raised taxes on high earners but right-leaning Republicans rejected it.
Analysts say the rejection has weakened Mr Boehner's position in negotiations with the White House, which is still searching for a solution to avoid the so-called "fiscal cliff" of tax rises and spending cuts.
