Michael Jackson civil case in context

Closing arguments have been made in the civil case brought by the family of Michael Jackson against his former concert promoters AEG.

The family claims AEG Live failed to properly investigate Dr Conrad Murray, convicted of the singer's involuntary manslaughter in 2011. But AEG claim it was Jackson, not AEG, who insisted on hiring Murray as his on-site doctor.

The BBC's Alastair Leithead explains the background to this latest saga in the fallout from Michael Jackson's untimely death in 2009.
