Beyond the beltway: Californians speak on shutdown

The US government has partially shut down amid a stalemate in Congress over a bill to continue funding.

While many government employees have been given unpaid leave work in the Washington area, sites and offices around the country are being closed as a result of the shutdown.

The BBC spoke to residents of Los Angeles, across the country from Washington, about their views of the government shutdown.
