Obama to act on immigration before end of the year

President Obama has said he will take action on immigration reform before the end of the year.

Speaking at a news conference in Myanmar with opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi, he said he had already indicated that "if Congress failed to act, I would use all the lawful authority that I possess to try to make the system work better".

Reports in the New York Times and Fox News say Mr Obama is planning to extend protection from deportation to some parents of legal US residents.
