Worker left dangling from Houston bridge

A Texas Department of Transportation contractor had to be rescued by firefighters when he was left dangling from a bridge after slipping while carrying out repair work.

The worker was strapped to his safety harness dangling hundreds of feet above the Houston Ship Channel while he waited for rescuers.

Local news media reported that once rescuers arrived, they assembled a hoisting device and opened up a manhole to bring him to safety.
