Ex-US Army head in Africa: Ease of Mali attack 'worrisome'

The former commander of the US Africa Command says it is "worrisome' that the Mali attackers were able to gain access to the hotel in Barnako so easily.

Gen Carter Ham also tells the BBC's Babita Sharma that the siege was different from previous attacks in the country because of its location in the nation's capital.

More than 20 people were killed when armed gunmen stormed the Radisson Blu Hotel on Friday, taking 170 people hostage.

After an hours-long operation, Malian officials said the militants no longer had any hostages under their control.
