New York: Plane crashes into Hudson River

A small plane has crashed in the Hudson River between New York and New Jersey, officials in the US have said.

They say the plane - believed to be a World War Two vintage P-47 Thunderbolt - went down two miles (3.2km) south of George Washington Bridge.

The cause of the accident is unclear.
