West Ham has signed forex broker Alpari as the club's new principal sponsor.

The "Alpari FX Trading" logo will feature on the front of the Premier League team's claret and blue shirts, and other kit, from the start of the 2013-14 season.

The value of the three-year, multi-million-pound deal has not been revealed by the east London club.

This agreement adds to the existing naming rights of the Alpari Stand and branding at Upton Park.

Alpari initially became a sponsor of West Ham in 2011, before extending their relationship to the current level.

West Ham returned to the Premier League this year, and are hoping to move into the Olympic Stadium after having been announced last month as the preferred bidder to take over the venue.

Alpari has offices in more than 20 countries, with locations including London, New York, Tokyo, Dubai, Moscow, Mumbai and Frankfurt.

It has a total of 207,000 clients worldwide and average daily trading volumes of $9.4bn (£6bn).

Its other sports sponsorships include being title sponsor of sailing series, the Alpari World Match Racing Tour, and being a sponsor of the famous Madison Square Garden arena in New York.

It is also the official partner of the New York Knicks basketball team and New York Rangers ice hockey team.
