Crisis talks over Hobbit filming

New Zealand's prime minister has met film executives in an attempt to ensure the Hobbit movies are filmed in the country as planned.

John Key said Warner Bros and New Line studios wanted bigger tax breaks and changes to labour laws.

The executives have threatened to move the production elsewhere after threats of disruption by acting unions.

Mr Key said the decision still hangs in the balance but would be made at some stage this week.
