Russell Brand to host Dalai Lama event
Comedian Russell Brand is to share a stage with the Dalai Lama when he comperes an event for the Tibetan spiritual leader in Manchester.
Brand will host the session, at which the Dalai Lama will address an audience of thousands of young people.
The event, at Manchester Arena on 16 June, is free for those under 25.
The leader's representative Thubten Samdup said: "Russell has demonstrated the power of spirituality to effect change in his own life."
He added: "His holiness the Dalai Lama believes that it is essential to inspire ordinary citizens - especially young people - to find meaning and purpose in their lives."
The comedian and movie star has been a vocal supporter of the Tibetan cause.
