Your pictures: Lakes

Each week we publish a gallery of readers' pictures on a set theme. This week it is "lakes" and we begin with this photograph of Lake Naivasha in Kenya, taken by Simon Hewett.

Rory Browne: "A few years ago I went out with my uncle to try some photography as the night was coming on, bringing with it a light mist that was lying in the valleys and on the lakes, looking beautifully ethereal, so we went up to Talla Reservoir[, Peeblesshire,] to catch the sunset."
John Edwards: "Taken from the summit of Snowdon, [Gwynedd,] the lake in the foreground is Llyn Llydaw and the lakes in the background are Llynnau Mymbyr near to Capel Curig."
Adil Iqbal: "Taken at Plitvice Lakes National Park, whilst on holiday in Croatia this past spring. The World Heritage Site encloses 16 crystal clear lakes, all a shade of azure blue and connected by waterfalls and cascades. Breathtaking."
Tom Mononen: "A fisherman on Inle Lake at sunset in Burma. This man seemed to be looking for something, perhaps a net he left. The peace in the image was lost at the time as we shot past this scene at high speed with a noisy diesel engine chugging away. Our guide wanted to get back before the sun went behind the hills; he didn't succeed."
Jim McVeigh: "This is a World War II Curtiss SB2C Helldiver being retrieved from Otay Lake, near San Diego, California, 65 years after it crashed during training. The plane was discovered by a sport fisherman using a sonar fish-finder."
Gabrielle Valdez: "I took this photo of an 'open sauna' at Lake Bogoria in Kenya last April. People seemed to enjoy the steam from the hot springs despite the extremely hot temperature."
Jo Cameron: "My daughter Anna fishing at sunset on Lake Kariba, Zimbabwe. A fantastic holiday."
