Ukraine's PM has blamed the country's security services for failing to stop violence in the southern city of Odessa that left more than 40 people dead. Michael Huang was on the phone to a friend in Kiev when the violence started.

Commuters in London England had their travel plans disrupted this week when members of the Rail, Maritime and Transport (RMT) Union walked out for a 48 hour strike over plans to close ticket offices. Tomasz Szaret sent us this picture of Earls Court station, London, England.

Air travellers at a number of UK airports also faced travel chaos on Wednesday after an IT glitch caused delays at airports including Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted and Birmingham. Ports such as Dover and Southampton also affected. Matt James sent us this photo of a queue at Heathrow, he said: "The picture only shows one part of the queue as it wrapped around a corner, down another corridor and then around into a further corridor before it entered the regular boarder area."

Lesley Ralph sent us this photo of Spring Grove Morris Men from Kingston upon Thames in Surrey, England. They were out to celebrate the start of summer on May Day despite the rain.

On Sunday, lucky ticket holders were given a chance to go on a giant water slide in the centre of Bristol, England. The 90m (295ft) slide in Park Street was made from plastic sheets, hay bales, water and washing-up liquid. Sam Astall sent us this photo.
