Douglas Taylor: " I found the subject for this image on an overcast summer morning by the side of the highway near Mount Rainier National Park in Washington State. The dark grey skies gave me perfect lighting for the long exposure needed to capture the motion of the falling water splashing on the rocks. When I drove by the same location two weeks later, the stream was dry."

Gordon Dunn: "After a lot of experimentation I finally managed to get a few interesting images of the splash a ball makes when entering water. I mounted the camera underwater and timed the exposure to get the right moment. The image looks totally alien, until you realise the point of view. Then the various shapes and colours take on a familiarity."
