image captionDouglas Taylor: " I found the subject for this image on an overcast summer morning by the side of the highway near Mount Rainier National Park in Washington State. The dark grey skies gave me perfect lighting for the long exposure needed to capture the motion of the falling water splashing on the rocks. When I drove by the same location two weeks later, the stream was dry."

image captionGordon Dunn: "After a lot of experimentation I finally managed to get a few interesting images of the splash a ball makes when entering water.
