Wall Street stocks dipped as a fall in Apple's shares partly offset gains in energy and financial stocks, which have been some of the market's worst-performing sectors so far this year.
Apple shares fell 1% despite the iPhone maker unveiling new products and services at its annual developers conference.
Energy stocks rose despite a decline in oil prices, down on concerns that Saudi Arabia and other countries are cutting off ties with Qatar.
The Dow Jones ended the day 0.1% lower at 21,184 points, while the S&P 500 lost 0.12% to 2,436. The Nasdaq fell 0.16% to 6,295.7.
