    But his passion for helping patients at the Salisbury spinal unit lives on.

    A garden developed there has been such a success that the charity behind it is now building gardens in other parts of the country.

    Horatio's Garden offers a change of scene for patients with spinal injuries, who are often in hospital for months on end.

    A driver with First Bus in Bristol has been singing carols with his passengers as he drives along his regular route.

    The bus has been decorated by local school children and Derek, the driver, hands out carol sheets to people as they get on.

    BBC Somerset: Bristol Airport says its runway will remain closed until at least 9pm.

    BBC Radio Gloucestershire: A man who drove dangerously through Gloucester in a bid to escape being arrested has been jailed.

    BBC Wiltshire: More than 1,000 homes on the Wiltshire/Gloucestershire border were left without power this evening. Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks say it's now been restored to all but 160 homes. It was caused by a car driving into an electricity pole.

  13. Bristol Airport Christmas getaway figures up on last year

    Inside Bristol Airport

    More than 190,000 passengers will be travelling through Bristol Airport during the Christmas period, according to its website.

    That's a 5% increase on numbers for the same two weeks last year - December 22 to January 1.

    The airport says it's because some airlines have added additional flights to their schedules due to demand.

    There will be four departing and four arriving flights on Christmas Day, with more than 150 staff working on site across all departments.
