  10. Robbers threaten family with gun

    A family were robbed and assaulted in their own home by three robbers armed with a gun.

    The trio also threatened a takeaway delivery driver and stole his car during the raid, on Stubley Lane in Dronfield, on 19 March.

    Derby County's Shaquille McDonald has joined Cheltenham Town on a youth loan deal until the end of the season.

    The 19-year-old forward has been a regular in the Rams' U21 side this season, scoring five goals in all competitions.

  17. Bike crash survivor launches appeal

    The family of a 17-year-old boy who almost died in a motorbike crash in Ambergate have thanked paramedics and medical staff who saved his life.

    Callum Bradley, from Belper, suffered serious head injuries when he came off his bike on the A610 in November.

    As he continues his recovery, his family have an awareness campaign to encourage young people to don protective headwear when riding motorbikes.

  18. Second homes council tax nets £566,000

    Derbyshire County Council says it will earn an estimated £566,000 from council tax paid on second homes in the county over the next 12 months.

    The authority plans to spend the cash on projects offering support to domestic abuse victims and people concerned about debt.

  20. Police can take pre-emptive action

    A 48-hour dispersal order will see police cracking down on anti-social behaviour on seven streets in Chaddesden.

    Insp Paul Cannon, who is in charge of policing in Chaddesden, says: "If officers think that a problem could arise then they can take action to stop it before it happens."

    A Derbyshire man has been charged with murder after a body was found at a travellers' site.

    Addy McAllister, 33, from Bolsover, is accused of killing Adam Fanelli, from Bedforshire, earlier this month.

  23. Man injured in stile fall

    Edale and Buxton mountain rescue teams came to the aid of a man who injured his back and leg when he fell while climbing a stile near Upper Booth this morning.

    The 20-year-old was treated by a team paramedic before being moved to an ambulance and taken to hospital.

  24. Police target Chaddesden 'nuisances'

    Police are to use a 48-hour dispersal order to tackle anti-social behaviour in and around Roosevelt Avenue in Chaddesden.

    The order, from Friday to Sunday, gives officers extra powers to take pre-emptive action against anyone hanging around on the street they believe could be about to break the law.

    Earlier we spoke to Carl, a lorry driver who regularly uses the A38. He told us a six-week lane closure due to barrier repairs had proved frustrating.

    He said: "They were quick enough to put the cones out. I just wish they'd been quicker doing the work."

  28. Water tanker apology

    Severn Trent has apologised for the noise caused by water tanker lorries being used to keep supplies running while repairs are carried out on a burst water pipe in Derby.

    The firm says it could be another few days before repair work is finished on Mansfield Road and the tankers are needed to maintain water supplies to many properties.

  37. Lane to reopen after weeks of repairs

    A lane which has been closed on the A38 in East Staffordshire for nearly two months should reopen before the weekend.
