  2. New call centre to create 160 jobs

    A Derbyshire company will create 160 jobs when it opens the doors to its new call centre today. 

    Energy Save is moving into new premises at the old Co-op building in Ilkeston. 

    The firm said it's looking for people with the "right attitude" to fill the posts.

  4. Investigation begins after A50 fatal collision

    More details have been released following last night's fatal collision on the A50.

    27-year-old man died when his van collided with a lorry.

    Derbyshire Police said he died at the scene and was not local to the area.

    The collision happened on the eastbound carriageway just after junction 4, where the A38 and the A50 meet.

  5. Normanton house damaged by Storm Doris

    Sue Tomkins from Normanton was at home when a tree in her garden was blown over by Storm Doris yesterday.

    She told us she was worried about the damage the 50 year old tree could've caused.


    Storm Doris caused road closures and long delays across Derbyshire and East Staffordshire yesterday.

    The high winds toppled trees which then blocked routes.

  6. Market hall passes safety inspection

    Derby's Market Hall will reopen this morning after it closed yesterday over fears that high winds may damage windows which are under repair.

  8. One person dies in A50 collision

    One person has died in a collision between two vehicles on the A50 near Willington last night. 

    Emergency services were called out at 22:00.

    The A50 eastbound has only just reopened.
