  6. Your Questions: Does Derby have a rugby team?

    Khia Lewis-Todd

    BBC Local Live

David Hudson got in contact with Your Questions  to ask: Does Derby have a rugby team?

And the answer is yes they do.  Derby Rugby Football Club was officially formed in 1891/2, and they currently play in Midlands Division 3.

It’s likely Derby had been playing for a number of seasons before 1891 but this year is the earliest we know of any written evidence.

In June 2002 the club moved from Kedleston Road to the new clubhouse and grounds at Haslams Lane.
