  2. Elton John concert: Traffic situation 'beyond control of organisers'

    Andrew Segal

    Local Live

Organisers of Sunday's Elton John concert - which saw traffic problems cause some people to be late and others to miss the show - said they "worked closely with the various agencies, to plan how people would arrive and leave the site".

Tailbacks on the A38, A30 and M5 meant it took many drivers up to three hours to cover just a couple of miles, a number of drivers told the BBC.

Westpoint Exeter said: "Unfortunately, with the adverse weather, exacerbated by unforeseen difficulties on the M5, reported on the day by the Highways Agency, some customers experienced delays in reaching the venue. Such factors are unfortunately beyond the control of the event organisers".

It added that information leaflet sent to all ticket-holders "made clear" they "should allow ample time to arrive at the venue and make their way to their seats".

  3. Latest weather: Rain dying out overnight, but more cloud and rain on Tuesday

    David Braine, Weather Forecaster

After a fine and dry start to Tuesday with some sunshine, the cloud will begin to thicken from the west. This will bring outbreaks of rain and drizzle through the afternoon and evening. Maximum temperature: 19C (66F).
