  9. Rise in ambulance delays at A&E in the East of England

    Stuart Bailey

    BBC News

Nearly 3,000 ambulance patients had to wait more than half an hour outside hospitals in the East of England between Christmas and New Year's Day, figures show.

Of those, about a third were delayed for over an hour, waiting for A&E staff to become available, and preventing paramedics from attending other emergencies.

Essex was the worst-affected county in the region with 827 ambulances having to queue outside hospitals, while there were 500 cases in Norfolk and 422 in Cambridgeshire.

The worst individual hospitals were Broomfield in Essex with 243 delayed ambulances waiting to offload patients, Kettering General with 240 over the same period and Colchester with 233.

Across England as a whole there has been a sharp rise in the number of A&E patients facing delays on arrival in ambulances. Theresa May has apologised for the problem.

  11. Officers want to track down 'upskirting' suspect

A man who used a camera to film up a woman's skirt on a train to Rayleigh is being sought by British Transport Police.

It happened on a service between Liverpool Street and Rayleigh on 22 December between 12:35 and 13:15.

Police said a passenger saw a man staring at a woman who then kept moving himself to look up her skirt by pretending to tie his shoe lace whilst bending down.

As she stood up on arrival at Rayleigh, he positioned himself behind her and placed his head and a camera under her skirt to take a number of photos.

Police want to speak to the man in the picture in connection with what happened.
