  6. Protest over Portsmouth children's centre staffing changes

Parents in Portsmouth are staging a protest in Guildhall Square later.

They're angry about changes to the way that children's centres and playgroups are to be run.

The city council plans to replace some playgroup and children's centre staff with volunteers which it says will allow "one-to-one" support for vulnerable families.

Roxanne Chappell, who is behind the protest, said: “This is an absolute disgrace. These playgroups are a brilliant and vital resource for people with young children."

Campaigners want the council to reverse its decision.
