  2. Woman threatened with knife during Gosport burglary

    A man threatened a 45-year-old woman with a knife during a burglary in Gosport, Hampshire Constabulary said.

    At about 17:50 on Thursday a man entered her bedroom in a house in Fort Road and demanded money.

    He threatened her with a knife, and sprayed her in the face with an unknown liquid when she shouted for help.

    The woman was not seriously hurt and nothing was stolen.

    The man was dark skinned, 6ft 1ins, slender, spoke with a foreign accent, and was wearing a black coat over a grey hooded top with the hood pulled up and the bottom half of his face covered.

    Det Insp Abbie Leeson said: "This is a very unusual incident, especially in this area of Gosport."

  4. Woman sought after elderly ladies burgled in Southampton

    Hampshire Constabulary has issued an e-fit image of a woman it wants to talk to in connection with two distraction burglaries at the homes of two elderly ladies.

    The suspect gained access to their homes in Heathfield Close, Southampton, on 13 January, claiming she was collecting for charity.

    At about 16:00 a woman dressed in a green wax jacket and black boots knocked on the front door of a 94-year-old lady’s home.

    The victim gave the suspect £5 but realised her purse, containing cash, had gone missing after the suspect had left.

    In Heathfield Road around the same time a woman knocked on the door of an 82-year-old lady.

    She was given £10 by the victim, who noticed after she had left, that an expensive pot of moisturising cream had gone missing.

  6. Reading PC sacked for rewriting witness statement

    A police constable has been sacked by Thames Valley Police for replacing a witness statement and forging a victim's signature.

    PC Danielle Willis, who was based at Reading police station, was dismissed without notice for breaching the force's standards of professional behaviour in respect of honesty and integrity.

    It relates to an incident on 29 May 2016 at Reading police station in connection with an allegation of assault.

    Between 29 May and 12 July a witness statement was lost, destroyed or disposed of and a new statement was typed in the victim’s name and signed with a signature which was not the victim’s.

    The officer also misled the PSD investigator, it was found.

  9. Man and woman sought after Bournemouth theft

    A man and a woman who stole goods from a Bournemouth shop are being sought by police.

    The incident happened at about 13:50 on 12 January at Aldi on Wallisdown Road.

    They entered the store, put a number of items into their baskets, and left without attempting to pay, Dorset Police said.

    Staff from the store managed to stop the pair before they boarded a bus and recovered all the items.Police are appealing for help from the public to identify the pair.
