The opening of a new primary school in Berkshire will be delayed by a whole year after the contractor went into administration. Dawnus, which was building Highwood Copse Primary School in the grounds of Newbury College, went bust on 15 March. The school had been due to open in September this year but West Berkshire Council and Highwood Copse Academy trust said the building would not be completed until Christmas. Parents and children will be able to visit the completed building before the deadline to apply for a new primary place for September 2020. Parents of pupils who applied to attend this year will be offered a place in another school for September, the council said.
