  2. Kittens found abandoned in Oxford

    The RSPCA is appealing for information after four kittens were abandoned inside a cardboard box dumped in Oxford.

    They were found by a passer-by who spotted them in a cardboard crisp box which had been left outside in Pegasus Road.

    RSPCA Inspector Andy Eddy said: “The kittens are very lucky to have been found - they could have easily died if they’d not been spotted in time."

    Oxford's Foals have been nominated for the Mercury Prize for the third time for their album Everything Saved Will Not Be Lost.

    It's the first of two albums expected from the band this year, and was shortlisted alongside releases from Dave, Little Simz and Idles.

    Holly Parsons-Hann from Basingstoke in Hampshire sent us this picture of her Persian cat.

    She said: "Little P seemed to like the fan and I was trying to make sure he was drinking enough water, so as soon as I put the water in front of the fan, he was hooked. He's been there for over four hours so far and seems very content."

  13. Vehicles severely damaged in Saint Leonards

    Three cars were damaged in a layby on Monday in Saint Leonards.

    Dorset Police say the vehicles were targeted at about 16:00 BST in a layby near All Saints Parish Church on Ringwood Road.

    A silver Ford Mondeo, silver Citreon C4 and blue VW Golf were targeted, and police said: "The damage caused to all vehicles has had a significant impact on the owners as their cars have been considered a write-off."
