Hospital 'short of what it needs' to cope with winter
James Pearson
Political reporter, BBC Hereford & Worcester
About 100 extra agency nurses are needed to help Worcestershire's main hospitals cope with winter pressures.
That's according to Worcestershire Acute Hospitals Trust's new chief operating officer Paul Brennan, who's been setting out the latest plans today to the trust's board.

His best-case scenarios currently put the Worcestershire Royal Hospital 41 beds short of what it needs to cope with winter pressures.
This morning, hospital bosses discussed those winter plans, with analysis suggesting the hospital will struggle to meet demand, though Redditch's Alexandra Hospital is expected to have a surplus of beds.
Mr Brennan says managers are working hard to come up with new plans before the start of December.
The 18-year-old University of Worcester student was missing for more than a week, sparking a huge search in the city, with his photo shared widely on social media.
Screens have been set up at Redditch Crematorium, showing the service to people who have come to remember him.
