James will present his Saturday morning show live from Stockholm this week as we celebrate 60 entries for the UK since Hull's very own Patricia Bredin first sung in the contest for Britain in 1957.  

East Yorkshire MP campaigns against possible closure of Minor Injury Units

One of our MPs will campaign on Monday against potential plans to close Minor Injury Units in Hornsea and Withernsea.

Graham Stuart will be at an event in Beverley arguing the proposals should be scrapped.

The future of the units is currently being considered by the East Riding Clinical Commissioning Group.

They say they want to make sure they provide value for money.

LISTEN: New renewables jobs coming to Hull

On my Drivetime show this afternoon I've been hearing about the 50 new jobs coming to Hull in the renewables industry.

3sun Group supplies installation, inspection and maintenance services for the offshore wind industry and recruitment for their new plant will begin in July.

Traffic and travel: 60 minute delays on trains to London

There are still problems on the East Coast Mainline this evening, which is affecting trains between East Yorkshire and London.

Hull Trains are warning of delays of an hour because of the issue further south:

Pressure on minister over crime commissioner remarks

A Cabinet Minister is facing fresh pressure to apologise for making suggestions about the suitability of the new Police Commissioner for Humberside. 

Chris Grayling (pictured) suggested in Parliament that he'd heard allegations being made against Labour's Keith Hunter in the run-up to last week's election.

It will provide up to 50 jobs.

Burglar targets Bridlington home of 82-year-old woman

A thief has targeted the home of an 82-year-old woman on Thoresby Avenue in Bridlington.

A purse was stolen which contained cash and cards.

Sport: Hull FC team news for Friday's game against Wigan

Hull FC go to Wigan tomorrow night in the Super League without the services of winger Curtis Naughton, due to an elbow injury.

Frank Pritchard is suspended following international duty with Samoa but Australian Steve Michaels is fit again and Sika Manu is available after playing for Tonga last weekend.

Sport: Can Hull City win the play-offs?

Hull City take on Derby in the first leg of their Championship play-off this Saturday.

Over 1000 people tour Bridlington's new leisure centre

Bridlington's new leisure centre opens in just under two weeks.

But already people are keen to have a look around, 1000 people visited the centre on the first day of East Riding Council's free tours yesterday.

If you want to have a look around yourself, free tours take place every hour between 12pm and 8pm until next Sunday.

I've come to the east coast, where people are concerned that not enough is being done to stop homes slipping into the sea.

The newly-formed Withernsea Community Sea Defence Action Group turned out in force this morning to tell me how worried they are.

The group say they would like East Riding Council to do more to help.

East Riding Council say they are aware of the problems and will be able to tell us more about what they are doing later.

The World Health Organisation has published a list of cities with too much air pollution.

Hull has been named as one of 43 areas in the British Isles where too many fine particles, known as PM2.5, are in the air.
