    The attack happened in Campion Close on 28 January.

  9. RMT announce further strike action in Southern Rail dispute

    Rail union RMT has come out in support of the Aslef union strike on Southern Rail.

    The RMT told its own driver members not to book in for any shifts on Tuesday 1, Wednesday 2 and Friday 4 August - the same days as Aslef announced it would be striking.

    The strike is part of the on-going dispute in defence of the role of the guard.

    The unions want the guarantee of a second safety-critical member of staff on Southern services.

    Mick Cash, RMT General Secretary, said: “Yet again today RMT is forced to send Southern Rail a clear message that we will not allow them to strip the railway of a safety critical second member of staff on these vital rail services."

    Bangladeshi student Mirza Beg, 29, jailed for 40 months for child grooming following sting by paedophile hunters.

    Beg arranged to meet a 14-year-old girl for sex at Bluewater shopping centre - instead he was met by the group The Hunted One.

  12. Man arrested for aggravated burglary in Herne Bay

    Officers investigating a burglary in Herne Bay have arrested a man.Kent Police received a report of a burglary at business premises in William Street on 4 July. The 26-year-old man from Herne Bay was arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary last night and currently remains in police custody.

  14. New technology to prevent accidents on railway tracks
